Montgomery Township Committeeman Douglas Herring today launched HerringForMontgomery.com, the official website for his 2026 campaign for Montgomery Township Committee in Somerset County, New Jersey.
The site is built around a simple idea: residents should be able to see what their Township Committee member has done, where he stands, and how to reach him. It includes a record of Herring’s votes and actions on the committee, his priorities for the next term, a biography, voting information for the Tuesday, November 3, 2026 general election, and ways for residents to volunteer or get in touch.
“Montgomery residents are well informed and they expect straight answers,” said Herring. “This site puts my record and my positions in one place so people can judge them for themselves.”
The Priorities section addresses the issues residents raise most often, including the township’s response to state Round 4 affordable housing obligations and the related litigation, property tax transparency, redevelopment of the Grandview Road site, opposition to data centers in Montgomery, traffic and development pressure along the Route 206 and Route 518 corridors, stormwater and flooding management, and ongoing upgrades to the township’s wastewater system.
Herring is an attorney based in Montgomery. He previously served as a federal Assistant United States Attorney and a New Jersey assistant prosecutor. He was also a gang prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. In Montgomery, he volunteers with Montgomery EMS and supports local youth sports, including Central Jersey Flag Football and Montgomery High School athletics.
